Preparing Abstract for Submission

Preparing Abstract for Submission

Abstract Format

  • Abstract Title: The title should clearly identify the contents of the abstract. Please enter your abstract title in sentence case, i.e. capitalize only the first letter of the title and then any proper names or acronyms.
  • Abstract Text: Your abstract should be divided into: "Objectives", "Methods", "Results" and "Conclusions". This is important for the review process. A maximum of 300 words is permitted.
  • Language: Authors should ensure that the abstract is written in acceptable, standard English. Authors whose native language is not English are urged to have an English-speaking colleague review the abstract before submitting it.
  • The submitting author is limited to being presenting author on one abstract. There is no limit on how many abstracts you can be listed as a non-presenting co-author. This means that each submitter can only submit one abstract of which they will be the presenting author. If you wish to be listed as a non-presenting co-author on additional abstracts, please make sure that the presenting author of each abstract includes you as a co-author when submitting

Assessment Process

Assessment Process

  • All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by an expert panel.
  • Authors will be notified of the review outcome by email by 15 January 2027.
  • All presenting authors must register and pay to attend the conference by 31 January 2027. Inclusion of abstracts in the final program is dependent upon receipt of registration. Authors not registered by this date will have their abstract withdrawn from the program.
  • Each submitter is limited to submitting one abstract as the presenting author. There is no limit on how many times a person can be listed as a non-presenting co-author.

Syn27 Conference Grant

Syn27 Conference Grant

We are pleased to offer a limited number of Syn27 conference grants to support Students and Early Career Researchers (i.e undergraduates, Phd students and postdocs) who submit an abstract. Priority will be put on underrepresented countries of areas such as MENA, South Asia, Subsaharian Africa, and South-America (as reference: researchers based in Least Developed Countries (UN classification) and in countries with low research intensity (<1% GDP invested in R&D) or low researcher density according to UNESCO statistics will be considered underrepresented). Delegates whose abstracts were selected for oral presentation will also be prioritized. The number of grants and the funding amount per grant are yet to be determined, but all interested applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Eligibility and Application Process

Syn27 conference applications will be assessed based on their potential impact and contribution to the conference objectives, while also taking into consideration the applicant's career stage and the goal of promoting diversity.
